Fake Snow olympics??

I’m appalled that the winter olympics are in an area with NO snow due to dry climate. This seems ridiculous and wasteful. All that infrastructure will go to waste. And the water usage is an environmental disaster. Why was this not a factor ?

Infrastructure always goes to waste in the olympics. That's what the olympics is.

Because Stockholm and Oslo dropped out due to lack of public support. The two finalists were Beijing and Almaty.

Most ski resorts rely on fake snow these days. Most alpine world cup venues have man made snow, especially the early season ones. Killington World Cup at Thanksgiving? 100% man made.

Whitetail - all man made. Vermont - mostly man made.

I've been indoor skking, and there is a new indoor venue opening in Lorton in a few years.

Fake snow is the least of the problems with these olympics.
