| Mostly this is just for fun…I’m going to have a planned c-section and my OB generally does Friday afternoons. That would put me around Friday the 13th (of May). I could potentially ask for the next Friday and be pregnant a whole extra week. And who really knows…I could go earlier. But if you could choose…would you be willing to be pregnant a full extra week to avoid giving birth on Friday the 13th? |
| What do you think could happen? |
| Yeah, if I had the choice, I would go the extra week to avoid Friday the 13th. Who knows, maybe the OB will switch days to avoid Friday afternoon in May! |
Well…anything could happen…but obviously not because of Friday the 13th. My brain knows superstition is not real but I still throw salt over my shoulder at times. |
| My dad was born on a Friday the 13th. It’s NBD. |
| No, but only because my MIL is a superstitious nutcase and I don't want to deal with her crap. |
| I was born on Friday the 13th. 13 is my lucky number. I feel very lucky--wonderful job, healthy kids, etc. |
Unless your OB is superstitious, yes. If OB has a lighter load and is more fresh, even better. The next years it won't fall on a Friday. |
|
What? You guys are crazy!
I actually think it would be fun to have a Friday the 13th birthday! |
| Yes! I was born on Friday the 13th. |
|
Even if they weren't born on Friday the 13th, everyone born on the 13th will have many, many Friday the 13th birthdays. It's either NBD or fun, depending on their personality.
Agree with the PP that says superstitious people avoiding the date could mean your OB isn't as booked that day and you get more attention. |
| 13 is my lucky number. So yes! |
| My son was born on Friday, the 13th. We think it’s cool! |
| I chose the 13th for a c-section. It was not a Friday, but the kid's birthday does sometimes fall on a Friday obviously. Though maybe you are worried about the actual birth on that day? |
| Omg. Just realized my DH and stepson both born on 13th, but not sure if it was a friday that they were born! Sometimes their birthdays hit a Friday. |
