Hi, My dad is facing some health issues and can’t cook much. Are there any affordable homemade food takeout/delivery/catering options he can benefit from? He lives near Convention Center.

He is 58, above poverty limit and not disabled so not qualified for these services. He is looking for some local home kitchens who can deliver or he can pick up once a week.

Are you a Costco member? They have a decent selection of prepared foods in the deli section and you can send to his home via Instacart.

Thanks, everyone!! If anyone else knows of home made food sources, specially ethnic food, please share. He may eat little bit more if there is a variety. Asian, Indian, Ethiopian, Middle eastern, Mexican, mom used to make him try it all.

There are a couple of restaurants nearby that have “family meals” that he could get and eat for several days (or freeze in small portions). Each of these is probably 6 servings and about $40-50 (I think?)

Chaia tacos (pan of enchiladas)
Little sesame (roast chicken, cauliflower, pita bread, several sides)
Unconventional diner fried chicken dinner (comes with biscuit, mashed potatoes, slaw)

Other fast casual places nearby to try:
Rasa
Little Beet
Shouk

I haven’t use the service but doing a general search this came up. https://shef.com/explore/zip/20001

I might also just drive around and look for smaller restaurants to see if they could set something up for you. Chercher is not far from convention center. Green Almond Pantry moved but might also be an option.
