Do you make your teen get booster or let them decide

My 17 year old says he’s an adult and doesn’t want to get the booster. He got mad I scheduled it snd says it’s up to him.
Are you making your teens get boosted?

Yes. Not negotiable.

+1. When he’s 18 and not living in your house, then and only then do these become his decisions.

his body, his choice.

Not negotiable.

But I am an older parent who received boosters during my childhood, so don't think it's any big deal.

Not true, at age 16 a minor has the legal authority to refuse medical treatment including vaccines.

In those circumstances I’d let him decide if he had solid reasons. There are good arguments that for boys that age the cost benefit analysis isn’t as clear-cut as it is for other groups.

This is the only time I can think of where I’d give a kid a choice in their medical treatment though.

I’d talk to him about his reasons and sources and then decide. So I guess that’s giving him choice.

Is he planning to go to college? Many colleges are requiring boosters.

Both mine got theirs, they didn’t even hesitate. And one of ours was 18 when he got his booster.
Anonymous
Mine is 13, and we made him get it.

If you want to sleep in my house, you will be vaccinated and boosted as eligible. True for every person in the world right now.

So is your 17 year old allowed to sleep somewhere else then?
