Aerogarden in closet or dark room 24/7?

Question - is it possible to leave an aerogarden in a closet and have things grow just from the aerogarden light without any natural light?
I have a small rowhouse with two kids and I'm worried about the bright light as there aren't very many places I could put it without the light potentially bothering someone's eyes (or even very many places in general). However, I have a closet or a basement storage area I could clean out and set it up in - but does it also have to have some sunlight? |

| No, it doesn't need sunlight. Closet/basement is fine but you need to be able to get to it easily to add water/plant food, and to raise the height of the light as the plants grow. |

| When you have a power blip, it turns off. Then you have to set it again. So, make sure it is in a place you will look into daily. |
