6 month old bottle question - nipple keeps collapsing even on faster flow bottles

Anonymous
Baby is 6.5 months. I was using Dr. Brown level 2 nipples with insert straw thingies, but read that I should remove the inserts after 6 months. I went to the step 3 (6month+) nipples but they kept collapsing. I bought medela medium flow nipples for 6 month+ and they collapse. Is this just standard? The nipple is sucked flat a few minutes into the feeding, and I need to pull it out as it refills and all the bubbles let out.

Are you screwing the lid on too tight?

Is it formula or breastmilk

Did you have the blue inserts or green? Also the rounder collars don’t mix and match with all the bottle types.

You are screwing the collar on too tight. Since you’re not using the internal (green or blue) vents anymore, you need to make the collar loose enough so air can’t vent out that way.
