I can't Locate this lawfirm

I've noticed that the firm of Biglaw is laying off a lot of lawyers but I can't find a website, address, or phone number for them.

Is this a joke?

Why would it be a joke. People are being laid off. Families are scrambling for income.

Perhaps the person said "Biglaw" to say he/she was let go by a top notch "Big" lawfirm, but did not want to give the name and possibly be identified.

Big law is a reference to the types of law firms with over 100 attorneys (normally over 200 attorneys). These are the firms that tend to work on large legal matters for corporate clients. These firms bill out at high hourly rates and expect attorneys to bill in excess of 2000 hours to client work each year. Keep in mind that to bill 2000 hours, you normally need to be working 2500 or more hours the year. These firm pay associate high salaries -- starting salaries in DC are between $135k-$165k a year. Theses firm tend to recruit people from the tops of their law firm classes. The work demands from a large firm are different, not saying easier, than those of smaller firms.

I'm with you, OP. The law firm of Biglaw must be stopped!!

At the very least, they should have a website so we can contact them to register our complaints.
