If you had a chance to send your dc to NCRC for 1 year and then apply out to an independent school would you do it? Would it be worth it for the hope that DC would have better chances getting into a Big 3 school for K?
What are your thoughts? Thanks! |
2 years is better.
Only if DC is not already happy in another preschool. The disruption isn't worth the added value in admissions.
We were in this situation 2 years ago and decided not to do it. (But then, we didn't have our hearts set on a big 3 for K either.) It just didn't seem worth the investment of money, getting involved in the school, etc. for just one year.
I would do it for the chance to have my child be part of the community there, even if just for a year. That's a long time in the life of a child, and NCRC really is a special place. (And if you have a younger child, definitely yes, for the sibling preference.)
