Can anyone recommend her and tell me more about your experiences? I am thinking of switching practices since mine is so many doctors
you never know who will deliver you...looking for someone kind, and a good listener (in addition to very competent of course!) |
I thought she was terrible and switched away from her. She was very conservative and became rudely defensive when I asked about her c-section rate. After I left her practice, I started hearing worse and worse things about her and was relieved to be away. I hired a doula who was great and pretty middle of the road. When we were speaking. I mentioned that my first ob/gyn in Chevy Chase had told me she did not allow doulas and they got in her way. I didn't even mention Dr Fraga's name and my doula asked "was your ob Dr Fraga".
I'm not an ultra natural birth person just someone who wanted my questions answered without arrogance and didn't want an automatic episiotomy because it was easier for her to stitch up. I've seen other posts on this board about her c-section tendency but can't comment personally since I left her practice. |
She delivered one of my children. She used to be in a practise with Brendan Burke (who i fully recommend) and she was on calll the night i was delivering. Despite wanting a woman OB, i found Dr Burke a much better and understanding OB dr. I wanted to not have epidural which she kept trying to convince me otherwise. Then she actually yelled at me during the delivery because i wasnt moving my torso fast enough (during transition and intense pain). She also, during a prenatal visit, insisted i have CVS nstead of an amnio which i did just because i was over 40 . Anyway i think she is very good doctor but not great at bedside if you have your ideas of how you want to give birth. If you want a lot of direction and expert care, i'm sure she is great especially if you are a first time mom. |
She did not inform us about even the existence of the nuchal fold test. When I found out..too late to have it... from ob/gyns who actually practice medicine in this century she told me that she didn't like the test and just sends her patients for the quad screen. The quad screen has very bad false positive rates. We ran into that with her and she again did not fully inform us. She told us our quad screen came back positive..not that the stats only shifted a slight margin. She said that we probably did not have down's, it wa sunlikely but that she was sending us for an amnio. I asked her about the % changes and she got huffy and told me it didn't matter just do the amnio. I later met with real genetic counselors and better doctors who gave better, more complete information. |
Wow, can't believe these experiences. |
