| I just got a + HPT. I've been taking 100mg of B6 for a couple of months now. Should I stop now or continue for the first trimester? |

Can you tell me when you start taking it? This seems to be my second 24 day cycle with only a 9 day luteal phase... last cycle I had a 10 day luteal phase. I haven't got my period yet but I am 90% sure it will show up tomorrow. Thanks and sorry I can't answer your q. |

My prenatal vitamin already has 25mg already... did you take 75mg pills? I only found 100mg
Did you have a short luteal phase? Why did you start taking it? |
| I started taking it because my LP was only 8 days. My prenatal has 2.5 mg. The dosage for B6 is between 50-200 you're supposed to use the lowest dose that extends you LP. You could cut the pills in half and take 75 mg and if that doesn't work just take the 125. |
| I took it for the whole pregnancy, it is a common remedy for morning sickness. Congrats! |

Did you self medicate or did OB recommend?
My ob doesn't seem to think that a short LP is a problem. I will have bloodwork done on Monday. Last cycle another OB in my practice had recommended clomid, but I said no.... |

I wasn't very scientific about stopping. I think I just finished the bottle I had. I would ask your OB (which I should have done) but these paragraphs from Babycenter.com make 100 sound like an okay pregnancy dose.
Can you get too much vitamin B6? Yes. Some high-potency multivitamins contain vitamin B6 in large amounts. And even without taking a supplement you can get too much B6 in your diet if you eat a lot of fortified foods. Read the labels of energy drinks and bars, for example – they sometimes have several times the RDA for B6. Excessive amounts of vitamin B6 can cause numbness and nerve damage. The tolerable upper intake level for the vitamin – the maximum amount considered safe by the Food and Nutrition Board of the Institute of Medicine – is 100 mg for women (including pregnant and nursing women) 19 years and older, and 80 mg for women 18 years and younger. |
