I was looking at a Hyundai Tucson for my son and I don't think any have the beeping when you back up?
Only "radar for cross traffic" How important is this? I loved having it on my old car! |
| It’s nice to have, but generations of drivers learned to drive without it. He should be looking in his mirrors whether or not it has the back up beeping. Also, backup cameras don’t replace actually looking, either. |
| The beeping is annoying. If my car did that, I’d disable it. |
| Anyone? |
| I'd look up the manual for the model you're interested in online and read the fine print to see if it's there. |
| Call the dealership and ask. |

I would not be happy if my neighbor's car beeped as it backed up! I can hear Fedex/UPS/Amazon beeping as I telework, but that's okay because it's during the day. I don't want to hear it at night or at 7am in the morning.
Why do you even need beeping? Don't they stop automatically if they detect something behind the car? |
It's only audible inside car. Not like those trucks |
| Are you referring to the alarm that will sound if the car gets too close to another car as you are backing up? That is very useful. I like the standard safety improvements cars have and will get one with such a package when my kids drive. |
| My Hyundai Kona beeps if someone is about to cross behind me (if I have the car in reverse). Is that what you mean? |
Yes- the Hyundai Tucson has something if someone comes from the side, but not sure about park assist like if you're about it hit a pole. etc |
I wonder if the Tuscon has that.. it didn't beep when there was a person right behind me.. |
