Prince William county schools, new covid return to school guidelines.

Anonymous
I read the superintendent's email from Thursday. Am I understanding correctly that those in "quarantine" (no illness but identified as close contact) are now able to return to school after 5 days, WITHOUT taking a covid test? The last time my child was identified as a close contact I had to get him an in person test and email the school nurse the results. It doesn't say anything about that now.

Thanks

That’s how it working in other places. Tests are hard to find and home tests can be easily faked anyway.

Is that for unvaccinated? Vaccinated students in neighboring districts (at least FCPS) can return without quarantine if asymptomatic.

ACPS is following the above with a strong recommendation to get tested 5 days after exposure but asymptomatic fully vaccinated students can return to school with no quarantine if they wear a high-quality well fitting mask. 5 days of quarantine for unvaccinated close contacts. I believe it is 10 days for kids in preschool who are not vaccinated and can’t wear a mask well (2 and under and those with exemption). ACPS also distributed KN95/KF94 masks to all students.
