We like to grill, we usually do either hot dogs or hamburgers, and something more exciting like chicken with tandoori flavors or fish.

If we're indoors some things that appeal to the masses:

Baked ravioli (like lazy person's lasagna)

Chicken noodle soup and grilled cheese sandwiches

Taco soup and quesadillas

Salmon and risotto

Baked macaroni and cheese

Burrito bowls, in addition to what's already been mentioned

Chicken pasta with a white cream sauce. The youngest can pick out the veggies they don't like.

Lasagna, salad, garlic bread.... its a great make-ahead meal that most people like.

Barefoot contessa’s vodka sauce with rigatoni.

Ham, biscuits, instant pot macaroni and cheese, a really good green salad

Make your own taco bar - just put all the fixings in bowls and let each assemble their own

And surprisingly salmon - we've had several impromptu dinner guests (pre covid), and everyone ate grilled salmon.

Similar. I’ll use a chicken sausage and maybe a Parma Rosa sauce and keep some pasta plain.

Brunch — easy to do a choose-your-own adventure version with little or no last-minute work for the cook (frittata or quiche, bacon, fried potatoes, bagels, muffins/croissants/ scones, fruit)

Skip the vodka, it’s still good without it. How can it not? With all that cream.
