How do you feel about painting trim the same color as the wall?

When it’s not white? I think it looks great and I’m tempted to try it but maybe I’ve only seen it done in really well-designed rooms.

(I’m asking because I want to paint our bedroom a deep blue and I don’t want the trim, which is currently white, to pop)

I don’t think I’ve ever seen it. Maybe in an old B&B I’ve stayed at? I feel it might look good or hideous, and hopefully, you aren’t planning to sell anytime soon. Could you do another color, a griege, grey, or a less white white?

I did it in a bedroom. Walls, trim, everything. Flat paint, soft color. I love it.

I love it but you’re right, I’ve only seen it in very designed rooms. If your room is immaculate (mine is not) and has beautiful things, go for it! Actually, go for it anyway!

I’ve seen it done where the walls are matte and the trim is semi gloss in the same color. Looks nice.

I did this in our family room and I really like it. I wanted our crown to blend with the walls rather than pop and it does just that. It’s there but subtle. Go for it; trim is easy to paint if you want to go back.

Wow thanks for the answers!

I've only seen it where the trim is painted a deeper color than the wall color. I really liked it!

George Washington was a fan. Google interior images of Mt. Vernon and you’ll see examples.

I love it.

We painted the entire interior Benjamin Moore Navajo White, eggshell for the walls and semi gloss for the trim, including windows.

Rave reviews from everyone. It looks far more crisp and Architectural-Digest worthy than I'd ever imagined.

What would you call that second shade of blue? I like it!

I like it for wall molding but for actual trim such as baseboards, door casing, and crown, I prefer a different color.

We did FB cooking apple green all over every surface of my office and it’s to die for. The color mellows out more then you think it would
