beta not doubling?

Anonymous
I'm nervous as this is my first positive post a miscarriage, following IUI.

My beta Thursday was 281 with progesterone at 20.8
My beta Saturday was 518 with progesterone at 18.7

I'm nervous that the progesterone is going down. It looks like my beta only increased 84%-- I know they say it may take up to 3 days to double but not sure how concerned to be.

Hang in there OP. There’s nothing you can do except keep yourself occupied. Step away from the internet and know that there are many good reasons that there wasn’t 100% doubling.

Serbs good to me.

Hang in there. I had low but doubling betas -
Like 9dp6dt (15dpo) - 47 and am due next week. How many days past IUI are you?

Thanks- Thursday was 14 days post iui, so currently 18 days after

My beta doubled but my progesterone dropped by 8 during my 2nd beta and 3rd. I was told it wasn’t concerning as long as it stayed above 15. Also, beta doesn’t need to double, some REs want to see it rise at least 66%. I’m currently 18 weeks so the progesterone drop hasn’t mattered. Good luck!

Look it up on betabase. As long as the percentiles aren't dropping significantly I wouldn't sweat it.

My beta wasn’t doubling and I am sleeping next to my baby. Hang in there.

Thank you-- 72 hours later it's now 2189 so seems to have caught up... but my progesterone continues to decrease...

I think you had a good number for first beta at 14 days post transfer. And it sounds like the numbers are going in the right direction. As for progesterone, are you on supplements or suppositories? I’d ask your doctor to put you on them ASAP if not or to increase dosage if yes. You might stay on until you were at the 12 week mark. wishing you luck.

thanks- i'm not on supplements and keep asking him if I should be concerned about the progesterone and he hasn't responded and the nurse says "you're fine"-- but I think I'll keep pushing

I would push for the supplements if it’s going to make you feel better. Congrats those are great numbers!

As a reference even on supplements w IVF my two successful pregnancies never got over 18.

Thanks that's reassuring- still no word from my RE so happy to hear any successes

I’m surprised you’re not on a course of progesterone. I thought that was standard with all transfers unless you’re doing a natural cycle. Definitely push for a prescription for them. And good luck to you!

Is that standard with iui or just ivf?
