Separate forums for books and other entertainment?

I think this would be great. Anyone else? I appreciate getting book suggestions from DCUM but have no interest in posts about the Kardashians, tv shows, etc., which one has to sift through to find the book recommendations.

You mean a high brow versus a low brow ent forum? Yeah I'd be up for that, I don't know what half the stuff is people talk about sometimes - but I doubt it would get much traffic. Let's see what Jeff says.

Would this forum turn out like my wife's book club. You go into expecting to find threads about books and only find threads about wine?

This idea has been brought up before and I haven't supported it. But, I'm starting to rethink it now. Maybe we will give it a try.

OP there's a section on the Mumsnet website "What we're reading" which has a read-along thread for War & Peace, a 50 books we'll read this year thread, best thriller question threads, and so on - it's endless. If that is something you're looking for but cannot otherwise find.

Reviving this - I went back through the entertainment forum because I was looking for something from a couple of weeks ago.

I noticed there were a ton of threads I'd be interested in reading or replying to, but they had very few comments and looked to be quickly buried.

I could be wildly speculating here but I think discussions of books or good TV (ie, not reality) need some time and space - if you're only reading recent topics, they get buried, and there's so much gossip and daily stuff posted that threads on specific TV or movies get buried (and people don't use search to find them). So just another vote for breaking up entertainment a bit.

So would the recent news of CLOY’s leads getting married be in the first or second forum?
