LCPS - new to the area and have questions about buses

Anonymous
We’ll be moving to LCPS and have children in ES. I currently drive my kids to their school but understand that busing will be an option when we move because we’ll live over a mile from the school. How can I find out where our school bus stop is in relation to our house and how long will their bus ride be? Any additional insight or info on what to expect is appreciated.

You will need to ask your future neighbors. This information is no longer published anywhere for safety reasons - once you are enrolled, your exact stop will be in your Parentvue account, but even that doesn’t tell you the length of the ride or how many stops are before/after you. Or how often you will have a sub who gets lost, or how often you have to pick up kids not on your route and are late to school, etc. All of which happen regularly.

Thank, PP. So if we’re a 10 min drive to school, should we plan on driving? Sounds like bussing is less than ideal!

When you go to the school to register they will tell you the specifics. They have lists and bus routes.

PP here. That’s how far my MS is from school and we send her on the bus because it’s and older school and carline is a hot mess. She comes home annoyed sometimes but I think it builds character.
