Current or Previous FAZ Families?

Anonymous
We're currently at FAZ and have generally had a really good experience there, but I'm curious to hear from parents of slightly older children who attended FAZ through pre-K did as they transitioned from FAZ to Kindergarten. Did you find that your child was well prepared for K? Is there anything you wish you had done differently? Thanks!

i'm a FAZ parent. Currently one kid in pre-K and another in 1st grade. My first grader was definitely ready for Kindergarten. He didn't know how to read, but that's not expected (or, as I understand, desired by the K teachers). My pre-K'er knows all her letters very well, is good at writing the letters, is learning Spanish, and will be quite ready for K next year. The pre-K kids are separated into their own class in the mornings to do the curriculum so they aren't in the big 3+ room.

Having seen what my oldest did in K last year (albeit virtually) and what my pre-K kid is learning now, I have zero concerns that she'll be ready. We read to them daily, and they do enjoy pulling out Highlights workbooks from time to time, but we don't do any type of "extra work" with my youngest.

Happy to answer any more questions.

Thank you so much for your response, that's really helpful feedback. I think our kids may be in the same larger class, although mine is younger. Mine can be a bit of an unreliable narrator so it can be a little tricky sometimes to know what they are taking away

Sure. No problem.
