Yeah, this is a crisis. We are feeling all of this with our little one.

All the older ladies who help run daycares at churches, at home-based centers, and professional centers left the industry because of COVID. They don't want to be exposed and many of these older women were doing the job part-time as supplemental income for their household. It wasn't worth the risk. Plus, many had to help out for care for their own grandchildren.

I feel like the average age of caregivers dropped by 10 years overnight. Family members in other parts of the country saw the same thing at their care centers.

Solid point. I had an older nanny who quit during COVID

Boomers retired and immigration dropped sharply. Same story everywhere.
