How bad is the gang problem in prince William?
Is it all over the county? https://wtop.com/prince-william-county/2022/01/ms-13-gang-members-indicted-in-4-prince-william-co-killings-other-charges/ |
Gangs are everywhere!
Or so I keep hearing.
|
| No, it's not all over. It's in certain areas. |
It's southern..woodbridge,dale city etc.. western pwc - no gangs very affluent |
which areas are which- the gangs are in woodbridge and dale? |
There are some areas that the gangs aren't in but most of PW from Manassas to Woodbridge is gangland. If your kid goes to high school in PW, there will be gangs. |
Western PWC= very affluent, no gangs, very expensive housing Woodbridge/Dale city = Low income, many gangs, very high crime rate |
Reading the article helps: Alleged MS-13 gang members charged in 4 2019 fatal shootings in Dumfries, Woodbridge |
I have kids in two different PW high schools. I've never heard of gangs in the western high schools--Battlefield, Brentsville District, Patriot, or the new Gainesville High school. I know there was an incident at Stonewall Jackson (the name has since changed to Unity Reed) a few years ago, where gang members jumped a fence to attack another student during PE class. This was a targeted attack and other students present were not involved. That being said, there are definitely fights in all of schools, gangs or not. Also, one thing to know is that Prince William county high schools have different "specialty programs." If you want to go to a specialty program at a school you are not zoned for, you can apply to that specialty program. This is why many families will have kids at more than one high school. |
