Best nonalcoholic drinks for dry January?

Anonymous
I’m doing a dry January and am tiring of La Croix, water, and Spindrift and am looking for something fancier and still tasty to have with dinner instead of wine. Has anyone tried the expensive nonalcoholic canned drinks like Moment, Curious Elixers, Unspiked, Recess, Kin, etc? Are they worth ordering?

I drink Izze sodas. I find them very refreshing.

I haven't tried any of the brands you mentioned, but I agree with the suggestion of kombucha. You might also look into shrubs, or vinegar steeped with fruit, which you can add to a seltzer or soda water. https://www.elementshrub.com/, for example.

The Post’s wine guy just did a story about alcohol removed wine. I’m going to look for some of these this weekend

I had a canned shrub soda with 30 mg of cbd in it last night. That was delicious.

These have a lot of sugar, but I love the sparkling juices from Trader Joe’s, especially the blood orange one. I’m guessing it’s basically the same thing as San Pelligrino’s version. I was in the habit of drinking in the evening and a small glass of that juice satisfied the craving. Probably with fewer calories than wine.

Love kombucha. Herbal teas. Fever tree tonic waters of all sorts - cucumber mint, aromatic, and their orange and smoky ginger ale. NA wines and beers (if beer is your thing). I’m in Canada, and find the St. Regis Cab the best red, but everyone’s palate is different.

Some of the pre made mock tails are pretty good. I like the Clever G&T. You can make a good virgin Moscow mule with good ginger beer and lime.

The podcast “This podcast will kill you” has some great virgin cocktails under their “placeboritas”.

Tomorrow Chico mineral water; the one with lime was my goto drink during sober September. Sleepy Time tea in the evening to help get an early and sound sleep.
