| Does anyone have feedback STARS high school team? I know the team is new. |
Is it new? No carryovers on the 2025 team? I assume some moved on, but only so many slots on Cap. |
| training is pretty good. your girl will get better. However talent level is low and won't be playing in top brackets and would not be setup well for recruiting. |
| Primarily composed of girls that were on 2025 Navy or Pride 2025 white last year. |
Is there not someone helping girls with recruiting? |
So less competitive than Metro. |
They definitely are helping with recruiting. They've hosted at least 2 college combines for their girls at the St James. Well attended by regional schools. |

Stars HS team/program is a good opportunity for girls to continue playing in HS for club who aren't on Capital/Pride/Metro or other MD teams. The facility is nice and ability to practice indoors.
Beyond that, Stars is a mess and a shell of the past Stars program. Communication is terrible, it's poorly run, the St James corporate mentality has taken over ($$$). The younger teams are not attracting or developing top talent. I'd consider other programs/clubs in your search. |
Some of your complaints about the new ownership/management are accurate but your claim that the teams are not “attracting or developing talent” are absolutely 100% wrong. Just this year several top players left Pride for Stars 2026 and 2027. Also this Fall the 2029 team won a big tournament championship and other teams had solid successes. There really is not a better club program in the DMV for developing young girl lax players. |

Which is great, but since the question was about Stars HS, let's see whether those girls are still there for 9th grade. |
| To PP - - - The best of the Stars girls will continue to move to Capital for high schools. The Stars high school program is not intended to compete with Capital. The Stars hs program is intended for girls who do not make Capital. |
I think that was the point. |
And 2028 Blue just beat Pride Red tonight. |
| I can assure you, no “top players” left Pride for Stars at the 2027 age group. You’d be a fool to do that. Can’t speak to the other age groups. |
