COVID Disruptions?

I was planning on starting my first egg freezing cycle in a week at SGF, however they just sent out an "Updated Covid-19 Guidelines" noting that "Should you elect to proceed with treatment during this time, your cycle may be stopped, modified,or postponed due to unexpected challenges related to COVID-19. Examples of challenges include illness of doctors or laboratory staff which would prevent SGF from rendering services..." along with pointing out if patients test positive for COVID that's also a no-go.

I wanted to see if anyone else on here is running into staffing shortages at their clinics right now or if anyone else is considering postponing an upcoming cycle?

I'm on Day 10 of my birth control pill before stimulation meds and I am also trying to decide if I should delay or just go with it. My stimulation meds costs a little over $5,500 and I'm afraid of losing out on the $$$ if something gets canceled right before retrieval.

I called my SGF nurse and she seemed less concerned about shortages and more concerned about me or hubby having COVID or them getting shut down. Apparently they were shut down during the beginning of COVID. I'm also curious what others are experiencing.

During the first shut down my clinic did everything in their power to get to egg collection for people who had already started stims and everyone else got back burnered. I don't know if it is worth the stress. Make the call based on your age I guess.

Also at SGF and there have been changes. I had to go to transfer alone. Nurses are having to cover for each other due to covid which has led to inconsistent instructions. Currently they aren't making you test before procedures but yes something could cancel your cycle. If it was me I would probably push it off a month. The numbers do seem to be going down and hopefully by then we will be through the worst of it. The cost of meds is outrageous. Best of luck!
