Which fish oil do you rec?

| Heard that fish oil can help improve mood so want to give it a try. But there are so many brands. Can anyone recommend a good one? And one that is safe for breastfeeding? TIA/ |

| I buy a 100% salmon oil supplement at Costco and take 3 horse pills a day. Lordy does this do good things for my skin @ 43. |

It's as safe as eating fish while breastfeeding. Some oil supplements have been triple distilled by a 3rd party certifier to remove metals, etc., and some haven't. So that's analogous to eating swordfish every day while breast feeding VS. farmed catfish VS. wild caught sardines. ie, you need to choose carefully. |

I get it from Costco. Why not just ask the doc to confirm on breastfeeding?
You do want a brand that as PP mentioned filters out metals. A google search should tell you which seals of quality vet this info out. |

| I buy Nordic Naturals or Carlson's at Whole Foods. I get the lemon liquid and take a teaspoon myself and mix it w/ juice for my son. He has no idea. |

I also take Costco brand fish oil. Huge pill. I take it 3 times a day. I think the research says you have to take much more to affect mood. Does anyone know how much?
I recently started taking Vit D 2,000 IUs and I swear I feel better. |

Costco PP here - my psychologist told me I can take all 3 at night so you don't have to worry about fish breath. You can buy the ones coated with enteric to prevent fish breath (but I don't - they are $$) she said 3x total should have some improvement, and if not, at least there are a ton of health benefits... |

| Nature Made--no side effects at all. The pills are huge, but they slide down easily. They're also on sale this week at CVS. |
