I’m pregnant with my second child and am now working from home. With my first pregnancy I works in the office and got quite a bit of walking in going to meetings, out to lunch, etc. I would also try to walk few times a week outside or on the treadmill and do light weights. I now use my treadmill (for walking), go for a walk or do a light ride on my Peloton and also do some light weights a few times a week but I am definitely not getting as much activity due to working at home now. It’s probably 3-4 times a week that I get intentional activity. I do run after my toddler. Just wondering if I’m on the low end of activity for pregnancy. I basically did nothing the first trimester. I’ve gained a lot already but it was the same thing with my first pregnancy. It was above the recommended amount but all came off by 6 months. I’m not too worried about the weight at this point but I want to stay healthy and in shape enough to get through labor.

Does walking around target every Saturday count?
haha but seriously, I’m lacking. I also work from home and pretty much sit at my desk daily from 9am-5pm. I have a treadmill and told myself I’d walk on it 3 days a week but that hasn’t happened yet. However, im 17 weeks and have only gained 3 lbs so far so I’m not too concerned. |
| I do orangetheory 2-3 times a week, walk atleast 2 miles on the other days. 20 weeks. |
| I worked out every day for my first two pregnancies, but this one, nope. Was so sick, then had Covid, then was on bed rest and now Covid again. This is the longest I’ve been so sedentary and ugh. |
Do you have other kids? How is this possible rn when they are constantly home. |
| I swim laps 5-6 times a week for 30-40 minutes and lift weights 3-4 times a week. Try to get a walk when I can but it's difficult between work and home life to squeeze that in each day. |
Pregnant with my third and go to OTF 4-5 times a week. My other kids are in daycare/ school or my DH watches them and I go. I normally go at lunch and block off the time on my work calendar. |

I was very active with my first, walked at least 5 miles a day and did tons of body weight exercise and light weights (I power lifted before, so light was 20-30#)
Currently 30 weeks with my second and I’ve done barely any exercise. I stretch most days, do some super light body weight exercise, and do a 1 mile walk a couple times a week. And honestly, this pregnancy, my body feels SO much better. I think I overdid it during my first pregnancy and I was always in pain, my entire pelvis and hips hurt and I was seeing the chiropractor constantly. So far I’ve had none of the crazy intense pain that makes my pelvis feel like it’s ripping apart. Sometimes I question how in shape women need to be for labor. I was in crazy good shape for my first - all the walking and weights, plus I did yoga and bellydance - and giving birth was awful. Meanwhile I have friends who are obese and giving birth was a breeze for them. |
I mean, school and daycare have both been closed most weeks in this area, so I have no idea how this is possible, but good for you. |
| I’m struggling with this! For my first, I would go to the gym nearly every day to do something — elliptical or class with light weights and basic exercises (lunges, push ups, etc). I don’t feel comfortable going to a gym pregnant now, and I lack the motivation to do much on my own. I try to walk a lot, but I worry the bad weather means that’s going to be really tough over the next few months. |
Yes, I have one. I’m a SAHM and my husband works from home with a flexible schedule. When I walk she comes with me. There are also gyms with childcare options which is what I used to do. |
| I don’t think pregnant women should be going to the gym right now. My OBGYN said absolutely not. |
| I'm 9w2d and I'm pretty much dry heaving all day. I've gone on a walk a few times and that's it. I feel too sick. |
| With both of my pregnancies I ran about 80 minutes every day until about 33 weeks or so then walked for 80 minutes a day. It was just my "me time". I didn't do weights or yoga or anything else, because I didn't have time. I was a competitive runner in college and ran a lot (80 mins/day) before my pregnancies, so it was business as usual. Tough pregnancies (my body doesn't like being pregnancy), but easy recoveries both times. I lost my baby weight after about 6 months with the first child and in 8 weeks after the second child. |
| I carried on with my usual training give or take during my first pregnancy (pre-COVID). Second pregnancy (2021, WFH with a toddler), I walked 4 miles a day because that’s 2x to and from daycare. Both babies were healthy, both deliveries were easy. I’ll start training again… someday… when every evening isn’t consumed by cluster feeding… |
