Where to eat in the Ramer's/Child's Play area

Anonymous
I took the day off from work and I want to take my son out for an afternoon of new shoes, something special from Child's Play, and lunch. We might stop at Bread and Chocolate for a pastry but I don't want to have lunch there. Where else in that area is good for lunch?

My son loves the pizza at pumpernickels near starbucks. Its a hole in the wall place but you can sit outside. there is a mexican place across the street which i think is ok but pricey. there isn't much to be honest - i wish there was more!

American City Diner! Treat him to a ride on the pony out front. And there are games and such inside. It's right next door to Child's Play.

Thanks, PPs. He doesn't like American City, alas. Not a french fry kid. I love their grilled cheese though!

Arucola. Both of my kids love it. When their grandparents were watching them last weekend, they made them go to Arucola for lunch AND dinner.

The food at the cafe adjoining the Avalon Theater is good!

You can go a half mile down the road and there is Comet Ping Pong (next to the Politics and Prose), which has very good pizza and ping pong tables.
