DDs birthday is in March, hopefully at a time when we can be indoors. Has anyone hosted one of these? Wondering the cost for a weekend afternoon. And is there a deal with groups for snacks or do you pay the crazy costs for each kid? |
Great idea!

Why rent it out? No one is going to the movies. They are pretty much empty. Buy their ticket and buy them a snack pack. |
University Mall Theater in Fairfax used to do this. No clue if they still are. My kid loved it.
|
I looked into it once and the price was great at AMC theatres - $200 for up to 20 people. Food could be pre-oredered. |
Um, no. You don’t bring a birthday party of kids to a random theater and hope no one will be there. You rent it out. |
It's typically $99 for old movies, and $199-$299 for newer movies. |
Old Greenbelt does this and it’s a supercool venue. |
We did this at AMC Courthouse. It was fun! |
It's surprisingly inexpensive - $200 at Tysons. There is a theater in Fairfax that is $100 and includes popcorn. |
We did this for a 9th birthday party and it was a ton of fun! The kids loved having the theater to themselves. |
Not much interaction during a movie though |
I looked into this at iPic and Regal for just a group of friends (not bday party) and I want to say it was around $500 if I’m remembering the quotes correctly. |
We did it. It was great. I belt AMC let's you reserve further in advance than Regal. You can either but snacks already of time of buy them there. I recommend buying ahread |
You can do it at the Avalon in CCDC |
