Competent Leadership is Missing

Everything with regard to the response to this COVID-19 surge is arbitrary. First the 5% marker, now our high school is sending home two tests for each kid. What good are two tests? This is like covering a huge hole in a ship with a bandaid. The kids need to be tested everyday before school. That’s the only way these tests will have an impact. Why even bother with two tests? Why aren’t the schools providing N95 or KF95 masks to all the kids? I can’t find any in local stores! The school system needed to prepare for this situation and it didn’t. Our principal is quick to notify the parents when there is offensive graffiti spray painted on school property over the summer, but he couldn’t send an email communicating anything this week about the Covid situation until Thursday. WTF?

What gets me about MCPS “leadership” is that they have spent the better part of a week flailing around only to come up with half a plan that essentially copies things that DCPS and FCPS are doing.

The incompetence combined with the lack of brain power is really concerning to me and it’s hard to chalk off when you see these MCPS administrator salaries. What are these people doing to earn $300k per year?

We should expect and demand better.
