It seems strange to appoint so many people with just a week to go before he is shown the door to the Governor’s mansion. Very strange indeed.

Not a single one of those boards matters to me personally.

No, but it begs the question “why now?”

Why with a week left to go, does he suddenly decide NOW is the time to fill all the vacancies? And being that Youngkin will be sworn in in a week, are these appointments subject to serving at the pleasure of the Governor, and therefore might be dismissed and replaced in a week? Do these appointments garner some kind of state pension status for serving for so little time?

Some of theses are weird.

John Powell of Roanoke- that’s it? Who is this guy?

And why is someone from Maryland appointed to a Virginia board?

Maybe they’re donors?

This happens all the time. Has for generations. It’s not unique to Northam or Virginia.

See Marbury v Madison, 5 US 137

Do people appointed for a couple weeks earn a state pension?

If not, then I don’t really care. But if they do, then this seems like a problem to me.

Trump also did 'just board appointments' and they took forward to weed out and fire over the past year. Like weevils in the ground. Not a good look.
