Best H-Mart in NOVA

Anonymous
With all of the kids’ activities cancelled this weekend, I want to take a field trip to H-Mart. We live in Arlington, so would like to go to one somewhere in NOVA.

What’s the best one in terms of selection and having fruits different than a Wegmans?

? how would a kid enjoy Hmart as a field trip? Would they enjoy going to Giants or Safeways?

btw, I love Hmart as a grocery store, but it's odd that you think a kid would enjoy it as a field trip. Take them ice skating outdoors; sledding if you can find enough snow. But, hmart outting sounds really boring for your kids.

Does it have to be an H Mart? K Market in Annandale is way better. Likewise Great Wall Supermarket near Mosaic.

Ooh that K Market looks great! Now I am planning a field trip.

Because maybe OP's kids have never been to a Korean grocery store? If you've never been to one, you will see that they are different than a Giant or Safeway. Maybe you're the one who needs the field trip and a lesson in Korean culture.

Probably Fairfax because it’s a superH. The Merrifield one isn’t great.

Google says it’s “permanently closed.”

Nm I found it! I just have passed that place a bunch of times without realizing! I’ve even been to The Block a couple doors down and never saw the K Mart.

The Fairfax Super H-Mart is the best/nicest in NOVA among the H-Marts. Merrifield is the worst. For a different Asian market, 99 Ranch Market in Fairfax is pretty nice as well. It opened in the last 1-2 years I think.

My 13yo loves to go to Hmart and begs me to go. Her peer group is very much into Korean/Asian culture, she likes to stock up on the snacks.

I like Centreville better than Fairfax. I hit both H-Mart and Lotte out there when I go by. And Paris Baguette and the K-Pop store near the Lotte.

I don't know about the other locations, but Herndon has a nice cafe in the back. Great food, reasonably priced. My kids would enjoy an outing like this - we'd have lunch and they'd pick up interesting snacks.

Let’s meet up and have picnic together. Fish section, tomorrow at noon. Who’s with me?!?!

Is the produce less hit or miss now? Love the food court.

99 Ranch Market in Fairfax is a good choice. It actually replaced what used to be the largest H Mart in the region.
