Where do you put your treadmill?

Anonymous
I have a 2400 sf house with 4 bedrooms. 2 bedrooms are occupied some of the time with kids in college. Basement ceiling too low. No garage. I could put it in one of the kids’ bedrooms, the primary bedroom (in one of the spacious dormers) or in the corner of my living room (which is put together in a Room and Board kind of non-cluttered, neat style.

I typically run outside because I have beautiful trails right outside my house, but the weather this past week makes me want a treadmill.

I would not put it in the living space. If your kids are young, put it in your bedroom for safety reasons. Kids can be severely injured on treadmills. I also like to work out with the tv close by.

If you run when others are sleeping, I wouldn’t put it in a bedroom in case it’s loud.

In your situation I’d do a bedroom or the living room

I put mine in my basement. Yes, the ceilings are low, but when I run inside on a treadmill, I'm not looking around me.

Same here. And I’m 5’ 11”. Even inclined, my head clears the joists by a few inches. It’s not ideal, but the noise doesn’t bother others or shake the house.

I keep mine at Gold's Gym.

we put ours in the basement. I didn't want the rest of the family hearing me stomp on it at odd hours.

We put our in the living room because we have a small house. We do have a basement but if we put it down there I would never work out. I like it but we don’t usually have company over…

Mine is in my garage. If I didn’t have a garage, I would join a gym, or get tracks for my shoes (I’ve actually done both before).
