AAU-type basketball teams that practice at the St. James (8th grade girls)?

Am looking for competitive, AAU-type basketball team that practices at the St. James, in particular, for an 8th grade girl.

I think Team Durant has a team for middle school boys that practices at the St. James, and would be interested in any feedback on that team as well.

Any recent experience most appreciated. I could only find info on camps and basketball instruction for younger kids on the St. James website.

Why the St. James in particular?

Sadly, I would not recommend StJ for girls basketball.

Middle school mostly practices in Maryland around landover and laurel areas. The high school teams sometimes practice at Saint James

Team Durant will advertise that their practices are at The St. James but they rarely are. This is for middle school girls. When DD played for them most practices were in Oxon Hill.

I’m not familiar with the Team Durant girls programs but I think several teams practice in DC. My son is on a TD boys team that practices in PG county. St James is booked most nights with training classes or it’s house teams.

If you are covid cautious, the St. James is not very safe. They have had many outbreaks and no precautions.

I don't think the covid cautious people are the ones with kids playing basketball. (My kids are playing basketball)

It seems like a bait and switch to have tryouts and say it will be at the st james and then have practices in MARYLAND! That's a completely different state. I would be pissed.

^^ If your DC is very good and looking for the best team/best fit, you will have to travel to practice. In this area, you will likely end up practicing in PG county as your DC finds more competitive teams or more options. We (reluctantly) commute to PG from NoVA after work twice a week for a almost 1-hour drive (quicker going home).

But, as your DC gets older, there are more NoVA teams to stick with.
