APS - School on Monday?

Anonymous
What are the odds that APS is going to open and offer in person instruction on Monday?

Has APS asked staff to left them know if they expect to be available to teach? Have there been any internal communications?

I need a day off from this. Let’s wait to ponder?

Monday is 3 years from now.

It’s just assumed that everyone is Unschooling now.

I don't know. Weather forcast looks clear. Don't know whether the same amount of staff will still be out. Was it really 40% before Fairfax took us to 50% expected out? Presumably, Fairfax will be back in school.

Loudoun was able to open two days this week with no (major) staffing issues forcing closures.

I'd need to sort childcare. They really should let us know how it's trending.

I think there's a 40% chance we do virtual AFTER monday. Kids need to go to school monday to get their devices.

Don’t most kids keep their devices with them?

Most is not all. You can't offer only virtual from an equitable perspective if ALL do not have their devices.

Perhaps Monday would be an asynchronous day and kids could go pick up devices then.

Yeah so do I. Still don’t want to think about it for like a minimum of 12 hours.

Hell no. You can't do asynchronous without a device either.
