Anyone else impressed with the caliber of Youngkin picks?

He's really getting experienced professionals - the kind that usually readily work for the White House or as a federal agency head.

Slater served as secretary of administration for former Gov. Jim Gilmore and as director of administration for the attorney general’s office, also under Gilmore.

Most recently, Slater served as assistant secretary for administration and management at the U.S. Department of Labor and assistant secretary of administration for the U.S. Department of Transportation under President Donald Trump, according to the transition announcement.

And yes I know the guy worked for Trump but substitute the name for 'Bush' and its a pretty impressive background.

What exactly would you prefer for the Secretary of Labor other than a individual who was the former Administrator for the A.G. and the Virginia Governor as well as Asst Secretary for the U.S. Department of Labor and Transportation?

That's kind of the perfect resume. He's almost overqualified.

In any event, it's not like Northam's department heads were spectacular. Giving a job to Tim Kaine's wife was about what you'd expect, and his Education head was a total idiot.
