Maryland just released updated isolation and quarantine guidance for K-12 schools and childcare centers. This new policy syncs with the recent CDC update to allow 5 days of quarantine for unvaccinated exposed children.
This is a huge relief for many of us who have been crushed by 14-day close contact quarantines. But we need to make sure Montgomery County and D.C. follow suit. They should also be encouraged to combine this new policy with test-to-stay in daycares, which the CDC recently approved for unvaccinated children. Test-to-stay is the best option for keeping healthy children in care and protecting parents' livelihoods.
