| How many spots open up at 4th grade? Is it worth even applying or do we have a better chance at 5th or 6th grade? No sibling. Testing required? |
| I think 4th is an entry year, I am following this post as am curious how people will respond. |
| Apply. You definitely won’t get offered a spot if you don’t. |
| Yes, apply for 4th. It’s an entry year, with I *think* around 12 spots added. No spots are added in 5th (by attrition only) and only a few spots are added in 6th. Anecdotally, 4th is the easiest year to get in because it’s not a traditional transitional year. |
| 4th is an entry year at Potomac, and statistically easier than the other big entry years of 7th and 9th. If you’re interested in the school, definitely worth the application in 4th! |
| Ugh, missed it |
| I don't think you have missed their deadline OP. Check Ravenna. |
| Deadline is next week |
| Hurry up! Might still be able to get things in but need to move quickly. |

Yes 4th is entry year. If you have not applied yet, don’t bother. You missed the interviews, campus visit, transcripts are due next week as well as teacher recs all due 1/15 it think. You can’t get in without the interview…. |

4th is an entry year - definitely better chance than in 5th or 6th. |
| Call the school tomorrow and ask to set up an interview, if you can't via Ravenna. At worst they say no. |
Agree. And the school’s website says they offer tours through the end of January. I already know of two schools this week that have relaxed their application deadlines for supplemental materials due to the snow/COVID situation from this past week (likely because other schools and teachers will be delayed with transmitting recommendations and transcripts). |

It will show poorly that you applied the week before the deadline while many other families applying stated the process in October…. They spent time at the events, interview, getting transcripts there in time vs squeezing everything in the last week before the deadline.
It will put you at a severe disadvantage if your even allowed to set up an interview at this point. And yes, there are probably 30-40 families already applying for the 12 spots… |
I scheduled the interview and campus visits today. There were multiple times to choose from. Np |
