I got a EOB today from FEP bcbs (from care first of california?) it was for $300 and $75, both labeled as diagnostic pathology. Then a label for medical care at $70.38. It says I owe the provider $445 and they included a check for $445 written out to me.
Has anyone seen this from Same day testing (signal diagnostics, also says non participating provider) before? Are they seriously charging $445 for one pcr, Drive thru test? This was my fourth time testing with them and I’ve never seen this before. |
| We've always done the free SameDay PCR testing, the one where you upload your insurance info, and have never received a bill. What kind of test did you pick, OP? |
|
Op- have you posted this before?
It’s exactly as a previous post was written. |
72 hour insurance option. I did rebook so they had my stuff on file. This was a test I did on 12/21 |
No I just got it today! Can you link??? |
| Did you specify that it was for exposure or symptoms? Those are the only reasons they will cover testing. |
| They always bill my insurance for $450 but my insurance only pays them $150 per test. They never bill me the balance, and aren’t allowed to. When you agree to sameday terms, you do agree to forwarding them any checks your insurance sends you for your test. |
| I got this same thing. I deposited the check but haven’t gotten a bill from same day yet |
Legally you are supposed to forward that check to sameday. It’s insurance fraud to keep the money. |
DP here. I always say we have symptoms too because I'm always worried they won't pay if I don't. |
Then you can ignore it. Legally, you don't have to pay a thing. |
No. Sameday guarantees free testing with insurance, no matter what. |
Liar. |
The covid cash grab is everywhere. Wake-up, people. |
| When I log onto my insurance portal, I see similar amounts for same day health, but I've never gotten a bill from them, so I ignore it. |
