University of Pittsburgh

It's a unique school in a several ways. Large, but not overwhelmingly so. In the city, but tucked away from downtown in a vibrant and interesting area. Sort of a state school, but not really. It's state related and spent the majority of its history as a private school. The school is diverse and draws smart qualified students from a variety of geographic areas. Lot's of academic options. High D 1 sports. Vibrant neighborhood that is a eclectic mix of students, a few old locals, lots of Eds and Meds employees with 3 adjoining universities and multiple hospitals. Cool architecture. Nice city park right there. Not cheap in state. You can find aid for out of state, but you better have high stats or great financial need. Overall... A great option.

Great description! My DS goes there and is very happy, my next kid likes Pittsburgh so much, he will apply there and CM. We were surprised how much we like Pitt and the city. so easy to get around.
