Britax Marthon on airplane

Anonymous
I have used the roundabout on a plane, but wondering if anyone has used the marathon. We are flying this weekend and that is the one we have now. Really do not want to rent one at the other end, and I would like to have one on the plane with me. Any one brought a Marathon on board?

thanks. I remember the roundabout being big for seat but it worked. I don't think the Marathon is that much bigger.

I've used two of them at at time for my children. They fit in most seats, but barely - we've had a lot of problems with them. Last time I swore I would rent them on the other end.

I took one recently on US Airways and it fit fine. I needed a belt extender, so ask for one as you get on...

DS sat still the whole 2.5 hours in it...life saver!

I took one...but I checked it! DS sat in the normal plane seat just fine.

We used our for our 2 1/2 year old on a flight to Orlando. Worked great, he slept almost the entire time! I just hated taking it in/out of our car, getting on the shuttle at Dulles, dragging it everywhere. Not sure what I'd do next time.

We rented a carseat exactly once. It was the most disgusting thing I've ever seen. When we got to my inlaws house from the airport, I made DH take out the seat (which was impossible to install) so I could wash the cover. ONLY IT DIDN"T COME OFF! Probably explained why it was so disgusting. I will never rent a carseat again. FWIW, we have a Graco ComfortSport in DH's car that we travel with; it's much lighter than my marathon and installs pretty easily in most plane seats.

Yikes. Do you remember which company you rented from so I can avoid it?

Also, I hope I'm not hijacking the thread, but does anyone have any good experiences renting car seats? I'm always worried they won't have one on hand and we'll get stuck at the airport or something. But I don't want to carry two Marathons next time!

I carried my son in his marathon carseat thru the airport w/a Go Go Babyz Travelmate. BEST THING EVER!!!

I rented from Budget a few times and the carseats were either Evenflo or Gracos, but not the latest brands. You could rent from BabysAway, if they are in your destination...they have newer models.

Yes, we take our Marathon on United all the time and it fits in coach seats as well as Economy Plus and business seats.

We've flown 4 times with our son, rentee a car seat each time(3 locations were the same and 1 different). All car seats all clean, fine and usable, but yes, hard to intall until we graduated to a booster seat.

I did not know that toddlers need to be strapped to their car seats in planes. I traveled with my daugther last december without a car seat......nobody told me anything
