48-miles of cars at a standstill on I-95

I’m surprised there’s not a thread on this. It sounds like a nightmare -cars stuck overnight on 95. Including apparently Sen Tim Kaine!

My sister in law has been stuck since 4pm yesterday. She’s an ICU nurse and was on her way home from a 12 hour shift, so she’s had an incredibly long two days. She actually seems pretty calm about it somehow - slept in her car, has enough gas and some snacks. I am so worried for her and everyone else out there. What a dangerous nightmare situation.

Wow, I hope she gets home soon. During snowmaggedon, I was living in Baltimore and one of my neighbors was an er nurse. She had to walk out to the highway and get picked up by a national guard truck to get to the hospital.

During that same storm, my wife (nurse at the time) was picked up by a hospital volunteer w/ 4x4 and ended up working a few days (slept in empty beds).
