What is the Washington Assembly?

Anyone heard of this before? I saw on Instagram that they hosted a debutante ball at the Sulgrave Club before Christmas...I didn't even know we still had debutante balls in DC. (Not opposed to them by any means, just thought that was more flashy NYC than reserved DC). I googled but it doesn't seem to have a website.

That is something else. Cotillion is for little kids; debutante balls are for college-aged girls.

Interesting Catholics couldn't join the one cotillion club. I feel like 75% of DC is Catholic sometimes!

Hmm I went to Mrs. Simpsons in the 90s and there were definitely black and Jewish (and other races and religions) there.
