Who comes up with these idiotic proposals

I can see both sides on this one. Teachers think their homework is so reasonable but when you have to jump through a dozen different hoops for each class just to access and turn in the assignment, which may or may not be actually valuable for learning, it’s hard to argue that what’s being assessed is the content. “But the kids are learning organization skills!” you might say. Well no, they’re being graded on whether or not they have those organization skills without actually being taught them. Some schools have study skills classes that all kids have to take but most take a sink or swim approach.

So, yeah, I believe in rigor but I think some of these non-academic expectations are ridiculous. Lots of kids do okay only because of their parents help.
