I am a teacher in Md, 36 years- not not a parent of a school aged child anymore.
I'd like to get a perspective from actual LC teachers regarding what happened with the issues with the school board, the parent with the child is who was assaulted, the "CRT" issues, the parent PAC who got the new governor elected. Do you find the teachers to be at odds with this conservative parent involvement, or each other? How do you see this going forward, |
Additionally..I am not interested in parent responses, unless parents are actual teachers. Thanks. |
Well, I guess we've learned quite a bit from not one answer. At least I did. |
The teachers I all work with (I am one) find this all to be a big nonsense distraction. It’s a clown show. It was a tactic to get Youngkin elected. We are not indoctrinating anyone. Loudoun isn’t even a particularly “liberal” school district. A lot of the stuff these parents are mad at like the transgender policy are STATE mandates. |
OP LCPS families and staff aren’t very active on this board |
This. I’m a parent and a substitute and I got more responses to my posts before Fairfax got its own board but I guess they were all from FCPS parents. |
Go on Facebook, there's a pretty active group that has parents and lots of teachers in it. Just sensing from the posts they saw through what was going on but they weren't as loud. Since Younkin was elected, make note that this has shifted to the background. |
Yes, but why, though? One would think people would see how much power these folks have and makean effort to fight it. And this isn't the only school board conflict that is turning. Bucks County, Pa. An lsrge right wing school board got in. |
CRT hasn't been mentioned at all since the election. |
Because it was only being used to elect him. It never was an issue. History is taught. CRT hysteria is a false flag to align the right. It's a shame that this is getting people elected. |
+1 |
This, remember the "sleeper cell" talk just days before the election? Make note, the professionals who actually watch for that said it was not so but local (who openly backed Youngkin) said yes it was and they actively drowned out anyone saying otherwise. It's clear this group, while smaller is loud and not afraid to use tactics that most would cringe at. The leaders are not even here, they rile it up until it's election time, obviously it works and moves onto the next area. Most of these subjects have now blown off with the wind like they never existed. |
