How many people are allowed in the delivery room? I'm looking for an excuse to tell my mom/sister that they need to wait outside.

While I don't remember the exact number (the labor and delivery rooms are quite large) I think you can have a few people in there no problem. But you need to speak up and tell your mom and sis, thanks but no thanks, see you after the delivery!

We were also told at our birthing class that the nurses will do what you want and lie if need be. So if you tell them that you really don't want your mom and sister in there, they'll help you out.

It's been a couple of years, but if I remember correctly, the nurses will uphold a little white lie and tell your mother and sister they can't come in to the delivery room if you don't want them there.
