Where can I get fried clam strips in the DMV?

Anonymous
DH is from New England and loves fried clam strips. Any restaurants you would recommend for these for take-out or dine in? Can find plenty of places that do the bellies, but looking for the strips. Thank you!

The Ipswich clams at Black Salt are awesome. Salt Line is another place to try.

Agree on Black Salt. Legal Seafood unfortunately only has the bellies.

Friendly's for a clam strip meal and an ice cream sundae for dessert is the answer. I believe there's still one in Glen Burnie.

The Salt line- they have fried clams and stuffies.

I get mine at Long John Silver's in Forestville. Clam strips really aren't a thing around here.

What about Bob and Edith's?

+1

I will add a big caveat though. Quality at Black Salt has TANKED since the pandemic. We used to go there monthly (live 10 minute walk away) for the 5-7 bar happy hour specials and the last three times we went we actually sent things back. It's really depressing because we loved the place.

Sorry to hear that. I also came here to recommend Black Salt!

Yuck. Friendly’s is the McDonalds of seafood (and of their other menu items).

Good sundaes, though.
