D.C.-area forecast: From highs in the 60s today, to a winter storm watch tonight with accumulating snow likely

https://www.washingtonpost.com/weather/2022/01/02/dc-area-forecast-highs-well-into-60s-today-an-increasing-chance-accumulating-snow-late-tonight-into-monday/

"Preliminarily we think a general range is 2 to 6 inches for the D.C. metro area, but it’s too early to call this our final forecast. We will attempt to fine-tune this and map it out later today after another set of model runs."

People are fast asleep on this one. Could be a bust, but people think that since we may be in the upper 60s today that the roads and grounds will be too warm for much to stick. If it snows hard enough, it will stick and pile up. Likely it is coming in early enough so they can shut everything down before people get on the road.

Just for the record, this thread is for January 3, 2022 snow event.

Now that we have a weather forum, let's be sure to include dates in thread titles!

Now upgraded to winter storm warning and CWG predicts 4-8 inches. Will the DC snow hole strike again?

You need to work on not equating capital letters with yelling.

I don't believe it. Its pretty warm outside. A little snow at 4AM and melted by 7AM per usual.

What are the prospects of driving from Silver Spring to Brookland at 9 am? I would hate to call out after the week’s break but I’m more scared of icy roads.

I hate this forum. Snow threads were so much more fun in off topic 😠
