Child custody when polygamists divorce? Christina and Kody Brown?

So does Kody never see his kids. How come she could move all the way to Utah, out of state? When he gets the kids (let's say every other weekend at least), where does he take them? To his home with his other wives?

It's so confusing. It really makes my head hurt.

Don’t they just have 1 kid under the age of 18? Since they were never legally married, and he didn’t see his kids last year, it’s pretty easy for Christine to just move Truly.

They moved to southern Utah, which is drivable from flagstaff. Also he probably does not care about not seeing the younger daughter, he seems to only truly care for Robyn.

He could file for custody. Since she lives in Utah, I assume he has not chosen to.

I hate that I know this. Cody was legally married to Meri, the first wife. The rest of his marriages were spiritual marriages. He divorced Meri so that he could marry Robyn and legally adopt her children. He and Meri remained spiritually married. In the eyes of the law, they are divorced. The only legal marriage is between Cody and Robyn.

This is irrelevant for custodial purposes though and is an interesting question. I assume they worked something out. They don’t want the split to be ugly I’m sure.

This, they aren't married so its a non-issue. He can file for visitation but I doubt a judge would give him custody when Mom has been the primary caretaker given the situation and child has always been with mom. He'd see them in their home, get a hotel or with another mom's house. He will not make much effort.

Isn’t the Utah border more than 8 hours away from Flagstaff?
