Considering moving into Osbourn Park HS/PWC from FCPS, any input?

We are in the market for a house currently, and the housing stock is underwhelming for the price: lots of split and bi-levels with bad floor plans and lack of space-not surpising of course. But we recently found out a few beautiful houses within our budget in the wooded/richer areas of 20111, Manassas, and know nothing about the area and its potential issues. I know PWC schools get a bad rep, but that's a poverty issue, not an academic one. The reviews and rankings for Osbourn Park HS seem really amazing, with diversity, which we would love to have. Our kids are young and and still in elemetary school, one of them with an IEP, they are both doing very well currently academically. Can you talk us into moving there? or out of it? Are PWC programs that different than FCPS? Would academic challenges be that different? Besides the potential perks of living closr to city, denser and community feel of FFX areas, which would help the kids have friends and plays in the neighborhood etc, is there a big compelling reason to try to remain in FCPS? Have you done the move by any chance? Can you help?

I can’t speak to Osborn - but we’re in zip 20112 which is the Colgan/Benton/Marshall (I think?.- we moved here when our youngest was in 6th so not positive on elementary). We love it out here- easy to get to either 95 or 66 as we’re right off rt 234. Schools are just over 5 mins from our house, much larger lots than other areas we considered first (we have over 1 acre lots in this subdivision). House is way bigger than we need but it was nice to have the extra room when all of us were at home for school/work. Colgan was just opened in 2016 I believe, both of our kids really enjoy it. Oldest is in one of the cfpa programs and youngest is in the gifted education program (both when she was at Benton and now Colgan). There is a new high school about to open north of us and I’m not sure what areas will now be routed to that one. I think our neighborhood used to be part of Osborn Hs (pretty sure our neighbors kids finished out at Osborn) but we moved here shortly after Colgan opened up. Lots of options for groceries/shopping in the area etc.
