Peking duck!!

I really have a craving for Peking duck, was thinking about ordering it for the whole family (6 adults and some small kids) this weekend.
But it's so expensive?! $70 per duck, and we'd need 2. I just checked Peking Gourmet and Peter Chang, unless there are alternative places?

We're in Bethesda and walk to pick up our Peking Duck order from Mayflower - it's a cut up duck with scallions, pancakes and sauce, we substitute fried rice for white rice. The kids love to roll up their own pancakes. Feeds 4-6 people for about $40, maybe? DH orders, so I'm not sure.

Darn, OP. I was hoping you were announcing that you had some and that I could come over and eat it with you ...

Good to know re Mack's, PP. Peking Gourmet is always our go-to.

We get ours from Bambu in the Palisades, but it is indeed very expensive. Tip: air fryers are fantastic for rendering out extra fat and giving you ultra crispy skin. I usually reheat on 330 for 5-7 minutes. Convection works too, of course, but not as well.

We are an Asian American family and one order of Peking duck serves two adults and one kid. With six adults and several small children, I would order four.

There’s a place on Route 7 in Tysons that is less expensive. China Wok I think?

Peking Gourmet all the way, nowhere else’s comes even close. If it’s a once a year or special occasions only kind of thing I’d happily pay the $10 extra dollars or so for the best duck there is in this area.

Han Palace in McLean/Tysons is pretty good. $58. Like the PP said, air dry the skin and it gets crispy and yummy.

XO Taste in Falls Church has very good Peking Duck along with excellent roast duck and pork. My friend (who is Cantonese) turned me on to this place. I think the whole Peking duck is around $40. They also have a plate with roast pork, duck, and chicken which is nice if you want to give them a try as well.

Are they still open? The XO in the shopping center with Safeway and Target is gone.

Oh no! You are correct. It’s near my work, but I haven’t been in the office during the pandemic. Such a bummer.
