luteal phase question

Is a 11-12 day luteal phase a problem? There seems to be conflicting statements regading this in my preliminary research on the net. Has anyone had to take B6, use progesterone or take Clomid for a luteal phase of this length? I am trying to conceive my second and we are 6 months in with no luck so far, but I just started charting last month and plan on using OPKs this month with it as well as preseed. I am just wondering if the luteal phase is even an issue. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.

FWIW, I think my luteal phase is about 9-10 days, that is my period would begin about 10 days after the day I had a positive OPK, so it seems really on the shorter side. I have heard that anything less than 10 days *can* be considered a defect. I did no intervention other than charting and intercourse as soon as is saw the +OPK and the next two days following and am on my 3rd pregnancy.

Thanks PP that makes me feel better!

My LP is 11-12 days and I'm on my 4th pregnancy. I think it's only a problem if it's shorter than 10 days.

Mine is also about 12 days and I'm on my 3rd pregnancy...

OP i could have almost written your post.
TTC 4 months, charting and OPKs, last month my lp was 9 days long. OB said she wasn't cocerned, said there are different theories regarding this issue... she is no RE though...
Anyway, I think charting is very helpful, started last cycle. OPKs dont really work for me...

OP, I'm in the same boat, but I tend to get my period within 10 days of positive opk. This month, I started clomid and acupuncture and got pos opk 3 -4 days earlier than usual, so I'm hoping that will translate to a longer lp! As an aside, my doctor didn't seem too concerned with length of my lp, but he thought clomid would generally help things move along as they should. If I weren't 36 and hoping to ultimately have more than one child, I suspect my doctor would have waited on clomid (we've been trying 5 months) and encouraged me to allow more time for acupuncture's positive effects to kick in.

I have a 9-11 day LP. TTC'd for 2 months, BFN. TTC'd 3rd month while on B6 (100 mgs/day) and got pregnant. Probably just coincidence....but maybe not.

Thanks so much for all the responses. I think this month I am going to do the OPKs with the charting and preseed and I will start taking some B6!

My luteal phase is 9 to 10 days, month depending. I took B6 both times to get pregnant and it seemed to lengthen my phase by a day. Two successful pregnancies thus far.

MY LP was about 12 but i was spotting from day 8-9. My RE prescribed Prometrium (the vag suppositories) from 2 DPO until my period. Did this two cycles and got PG on the third with an IUI, and stayed on Prometrium until week 10 when placenta takes over. For the second pregnancy I got PG on first try with Prometrium and again stayed on it till week 10.

OP here-to PP-yes, that was a concern of mine as well since I spot on days 10-11 even though flow does not start until 12. I have an RE appt tomorrow for some possible subclinical thyroid issues so I plan on discussing these issues with her and see what she says.

How much B6 do you guys take? I'm just taking Centrum Ultra women's which give me 100% DV for B6. Should I take more in addition to this? My phase is around 9-10 days.

I was taking 100 mgs (my OB said I could take 75, but the pills I bought at Harris Teeter were 100 mgs and I didn't want to have to cut them. My OB seemed skeptical, fwiw.)
